School Readiness Instructor
The path to becoming a licensed RMTi School Readiness Instructor…
For those who are already RMTi One and Two Instructors:
- Attend RMTi for School Readiness at least 2 times
- Attend 2-day RMTi for School Readiness Teacher Training
- Complete PowerPoint presentation
- If instructor has a formal early childhood qualification (or 5 years minimum early childhood experience) – no further teaching requirements
If instructor has no formal early childhood qualification, must be observed teaching at least once - Complete Application for Certification; Pay application fee (Tier 1: $25.00; Tier 2: $10.00)
- Sign (or re-sign) an Instructor Agreement with RMTi
For those who are seeking to become RMTi School Readiness Instructors only:
- Be a consultant for 6 months
- Attend RMTi for School Readiness at least 2 times
- Attend Making Connections at least once (as of January 2019)
- Attend 2-day RMTi for School Readiness Teacher Training
- Complete PowerPoint presentation
- Co-teach RMTi for School Readiness at least two (2) times with a qualified instructor
- Be observed teaching RMTi for School Readiness at least one time by a qualified instructor
- Complete any other task thought necessary by SR Observer (e.g. case studies, article, compiling feedback)
- Complete Application for Certification; Pay application fee (Tier 1: $75.00; Tier 2: $25.00)
- Sign (or re-sign) an Instructor Agreement with RMTi
Certified RMTi School Readiness Instructors at the end of 2018 are also licensed to teach Essentials of RMTi and Rhythm, Movement and Play (RMP).
To remain a licensed RMTi Instructor or Consultant, you will need to stay qualified/certified in your profession or modality, meet the continuing education requirements for RMTi Instructors, sign and adhere to the RMTi licensing agreement and pay the annual RMTi licensing fee.
A revision to our curriculum was completed in 2018. Coursework prior to the 2018 curriculum revision is no longer acceptable to qualify for certification. If you have extenuating circumstances and would like to request an exception to have coursework prior to 2018 be considered, email the office directly.
