About Johannah Bailey
I am a somatic therapist with qualifications in RMTi, Trauma Informed Yoga, Janina Fisher’s model for working with Complex Trauma and Structural Dissociation as well as a holistic therapist in Reflexology, Reiki and Aromatherapy.
RMTi has become an important part of my work as a somatic therapist as I focus on reversing the impact of trauma on the body and mind. As a somatic therapist I explore with my clients how their nervous system, their bodies and mind have adapted to living with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, obsessive behaviours or CPTSD, OSDD and DID to name just a few. Generally, the actual diagnosis is not my main focus as I work with the person I see in front of me and we explore the mind through the body. A lot of my work is about psychoeducation, exploring how to regulate the nervous system and befriending the body in a safe space. Once a safe space and relationship has been established we can begin the deeper work. For some clients this will be around stabilisation and how to deal with flashbacks, anxiety or depression, how to ground and how to stay present in their window of tolerance. With some clients we will move into deeper processing work. The work I do with my clients is highly dependent on the client and their goals and needs which can change as we go along.
Generally I draw from my vast toolbox of varies therapies that I found valuable on my own healing journey and that changed my life and adapt those for each client.
