I went to Liberty University for my undergraduate in Biology. I then decided to apply to PT school but was convinced by an advisor that I would make a better Occupational Therapist. I enrolled in the OTA program in Middle Georgia College and fell in love with the holistic approach of the profession. I started my professional career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working with pediatrics and adults in Saint Simons Island, GA. I moved to Nashville, TN when I got married in 2007 and, continued working with adults in a skilled nursing center when a colleague invited me to join her at a pediatric outpatient clinic. It was at this clinic where I started to learn about integrating primitive reflexes. We learn in school about how the reflexes develop, but no one talked about the implications if the reflexes don't integrate in the brain appropriately. I started doing basic gross motor exercises with the clients in the clinic and I started to gradually see improvements in each of my clients. My continued thirst for knowledge led me and a colleague to find RMTi and we continue to be blown away by the progress our clients are making. I love this work and use it for myself and my clients daily.
