Hi my name is Janet and I am a Neuro-Developmental Consultant. I have been working with children and young adults all my life and began as a nurse, midwife, health visitor and teacher. I work in a busy practice in Stockport alongside my husband who is a Neuro-Developmental and Behavioural Optometrist. I am trained in a wide range of neuro-developmental modalities including INPP, RMT, MNRI, Brain Gym and Johansen. RMT is an amazing therapy because of its passivity and therefore works on a wide range of children who might struggle to access more active approached to reflex integration. I work with any age of child if there is an identified need. My week can be working with a range of children with anything from specific learning difficulties, ADD, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, DCD (formally known as Dyspraxia), global or general developmental delay, anxiety issues and challenging behaviours. I also work with a range of children with pathology i.e. genetic disorders, occular/ auditory congenital issues, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome etc. I am an intuitive practitioner and once a full assessment has been done we find the best programme for the individual and work together as a team around the child to best support their needs. I generally see clients monthly but there a a few who come to see me weekly for a hands on therapy session, it all depends on need and support mechanisms at home.
